They hail from Russellville, Arkansas, and they play a
style of music called “new-grass” with such passion

the 59th Annual
Ozark Folk Festival in
Eureka
Springs.
Hannah Blaylock

Hear the Voice of an Irish Siren
Irish-American Cathie Ryan, with her
crystalline vocals and insightful songwriting, is an
original and distinctive voice in Celtic music.
Since her acclaimed seven-year tenure as lead
singer of Cherish the Ladies, the Detroit-born
Ryan has established herself as one of Celtic Music’s
most popular and enduring singer-songwriters.
Cathie Ryan is a captivating and deeply
affecting performer and in her Arkansas concerts she
will be accompanied by her band of traditional
Irish musicians. A loyal following throughout
Europe and North America grows as Ryan tours
steadily with “songs of the heart.”
At one live performance The Irish Echo
observed, "Cathie Ryan certainly knows how to
communicate with her audience. And what she
communicates through song are the enduring values
of home, family, memory, and spirit..."
“There is nothing like a live
show, being with an audience, sharing the music.
That is the best part of being a singer and writing
songs,” Ryan says.

Classy Music Makes the Love Lights Shine
Make a little romance with the gift of music this
holiday in star-dusted Eureka Springs. Get in the
mood for love with a little jazz piano and saxophone
tagged, "A Love 'n' Jazz Christmas."
Saxophonist Grady Nichols, performing
with his band, and pianist Daniel Kleefeld are
this holiday's dynamic duo on stage at the Eureka
Springs City Auditorium, December 1. Nichols, a
huge success in the smooth jazz genre, and classical
pianist Daniel Kleefeld, have a holiday feel-good
celebration up their proverbial sleeves.
Grady Nichols grew up and fell in love
with music in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. By high
school he was performing professionally and
studying under legendary saxophonist Joe
Davis. Well-known jazz critic and writer
Jonathan Widran, claimed Nichols was “most likely
to spearhead the next generation of great smooth
artists.”
Daniel Kleefeld studied music from the
age of
ten in Fargo North Dakota, and since then has
developed his own style and compositions of
neoclassical , classical secular and sacred
music. He has been compared to George
Winston and Jim Brickman, but even these
comparisons fall short in capture the true spirit, heart
and passion he brings to even the most familiar tunes.
"A Love 'n' Jazz Christmas"
in Eureka Springs promises to be the musical
celebration of all the good feelings of the holiday
season - love and romance, warm-fuzzy delights,
uplifted spirits and fun.
